Meet Your Host

Hi, I'm Shaun Morgan, I'm a full-time teacher. I have taught in four different schools in four different states on four different topics but I enjoy modern American history the most. I started my financial journey when I started teaching as an "intern", which is a replacement for student teaching in Utah where they throw you into the classroom without an experienced teacher for a year and then pay you half salary because you're an intern (yikes!). That wasn't enough to feed my growing family and I descended into debt.

When I started my first "real" job, I was expecting to have a full salary and everything to be good, but it wasn't. I had to get a second job and even worked my tail off to get a master's degree in 5 months (don't recommend it), but I missed the pay increase deadline by a month so it made little difference. That is when I realized things needed to change.

I started learning about finances, but I was frustrated by the huge amount of advice that just didn't apply to me. "Go ask for a raise." "Contribute to your employer match." "Work more and get overtime." "Save your 'excess' cash." While these are great pieces of generic advice, they don't apply to most teachers. So I started on a journey to help teachers unlock your unique financial superpowers and gain the financial literacy you need to not only improve your life but also the lives of your students as you teach them to become financially savvy. This is a lofty goal, but I want every teacher to be just as financially literate as reading a book.
