Teaching is analogous to most things in life. Throughout my conversation with Colleen Salchow we discovered again and again that you can use your teaching experience to understand finances, business, and so much more. In other words, if you’re a teacher, you can do anything! Here are the main things we talked about.

Key Ideas

  • Even teachers who think they have a secure job might lose it, be prepared.

  • Use a budget as an assessment tool. Get the data from it and adjust accordingly.

  • Teach finance by making it relatable. It isn’t just numbers, it is life!

  • You can become a financial coach, but realize that owning a business is the hard part.
