It is never to early to start talking to your kids about money. Building a strong financial literacy foundation is massively important. That’s why I brought on Crystina Cardozo to talk about how you can teach your own children about money AND maybe even apply some of this in the classroom too.
Key Ideas
Start teaching financial literacy concepts early, as young as toddlers (basics like wants vs needs).
Lead by example - kids notice and mimic parents' money habits.
Use physical money and real experiences (like running a lemonade stand) before introducing digital/abstract concepts.
Open an investment account for kids and show it to them so they can learn about compound growth.
Consider a Roth IRA for kids who work in your side business.
In the classroom, make sure you keep current on financial topics to address kids' questions knowledgeably as they come up.
